I remember seeing Jupiter on October 8, it was next to the moon that night. Yeah I had to look it up because I didn’t know what bright star was so close to the moon that night.
Sadly the light pollution at night on my corner of 9th & 2nd Ave. has increased exponentially. Only on the absolutely clearest nights one can faintly make out the winter constellation of Orion. Even with the blinds drawn, my bedroom is illuminated from outdoor lights. Happily Jupiter can be seen because it's so big & bright.
