Friday's opening shots

Ahead of the Dance Parade and DanceFest taking place tomorrow (rain or shine!), someone decided to show his/her enthusiasm by knocking over all the barricades that the NYPD put up along the route on Avenue A ... thanks to EVG reader Joe for these photos.

And read more about the parade here ... and here.

Thanks for crossing the bridges and tunnels so you can trash the EV for fun on a Thursday night.

Welcome to the "age of vandalism".

I don't know what's wrong with people, but the anti-social behavior of so, so, so many people is staggeringly awful.

It's because certain levels of behavior come with no repercussions.

"Thanks for crossing the bridges and tunnels so you can trash the EV for fun on a Thursday night." You must not leave your house, or be joking. There are nut jobs overdosed on way too powerful drugs that go around this neighborhood violently flipping over garbage cans, planters, barricades, and anything else every single night.

Indicative of what CB3 has allowed our neighborhood to devolve into in the name of the real estate and hospitality corps short term tenants paying higher and higher rents leading to entitlement behavior and then the party time woo hooer's that ups the entitlement too unseen before levels mix that with the post pandemic craziness and here we are.

That said this can't be the first time those barricades have been trashed they block movement and are both annoying/a bit dangerous when no event is happening, They set them up a day earlier than needed ( Thursday for a event Saturday) really a drag if ya need too avoid a disturbed person it's very difficult to just cross the street and be on your way
