The Fathers Heart is a neighborhood treasure, meeting the nutritional and social service needs for many in the neighborhood. It's a shame that it doesn't get more support from local politicians, ie, financial support. I'm talking to to you Rosie! This church feeds hundreds of people Saturday morning, has free GED classes, and programs for at-risk teens, among others. It runs on a shoe string. Volunteers and donations welcome! I'm not a parishoner, just a grateful neighbor.
Here, you'll find things that you may or may not be interested in about the East Village and other parts of New York City. Appreciating what's here while it's still here. Remembering what's no longer here. Wishing some things weren't here that are here.
