Dips: You may now (officially) swim in city pools today

[EVG file photo, Tompkins Square Pool]

You make now go for a swim or maybe just jump in Hamilton Fish Pool on Pitt and East Houston ... the Dry Dock Pool on Avenue D and East 10th Street ... and the Tompkins Square Pool (mini pool for kids!) ...

As for lap action at Hamilton Fish, here are some details via the Lo-Down:

Lap swims are from 7 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. for early birds and 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. for night owls in July and at dusk from August through Labor Day. A free t-shirt is up for grabs for participants who swim 25 miles or more over the summer and prizes are awarded to the top three male and female distance swimmers from each pool program.

No other word about laps at the neighborhood pools here ... and here or here.

Most pools are open from 11 a.m. through 7 p.m., with a break for pool cleaning between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. Swimsuits are also required (not my rules).

There is no way I would go near that "water".

So don't.

LOL @ the end of the pool scene in Caddyshack where the old lady faints cuz she thinks Bill Murray is eating a log of shit which was really a candy bar.

How come someone hasn't created a wetsuit with a sharkfin yet? Just instruct wearers of it not to wear it in waters outside of pools hahaha. "Man Mistaken For Great White Shark Shot And Killed" LOL

Ain't getting in no pool without having first imbibed a craft beer or a rose or flaming cocktail. In other words, EV/LES pools need a liquor license!

A friend told me that many urinate in this pool. I wouldn't even think about going in even though I live a few blocks away. No thanks.

You needed a friend to tell you this? Every public pool gets peed in! Every private pool gets peed in too. It's why god made chlorine.

I went to that disgusting petri dish TSP pool as kid... pee in the pool was the least of the 'floaters' you could find there.
