The Times takes us on a vinyl-shopping tour of the East Village, from Other Music to Academy Records. The piece ends with a stop at St. Mark’s Church in-the-Bowery, where you can "watch the local tramps with bottles in brown bags come and go from the front steps."
They left out Gimme Gimme Records on east 5th street..Oh well, I guess if I wasn't getting soused at the St. Marks Church I could have directed them there!

We love tips
Have a story idea or tip about something happening in the East Village? Or maybe a photo? Or several photos? Or video! We'd love to hear about it. Or see it. Or something. Please go here to submit a tip.
By the way
Here, you'll find things that you may or may not be interested in about the East Village and other parts of New York City. Appreciating what's here while it's still here. Remembering what's no longer here. Wishing some things weren't here that are here.

I hate the NY Times.
bore like the "watch the yunnie, B&t, tourist, transplant tramps with fro-yos in cups come and go from the front steps."
Seriously, has NYT been in the EV recently?
Why that last detail was necessary in an article about buying vinyl is a baffler...mcuh like the Times itself...
