Question of the day: "Where is the two ounce 'anti-energy' relaxation shot that the world so desperately requires?"

We get story ideas in the inbox!

Hello!

Great job with E.V. Grieve; I just spent some time thumbing through old posts, and I'm a fan of the site!

I'm contacting you because I have a suggestion for a piece. Do you remember Drank, the purple beverage that is the yang to Red Bull's yin? Drank came out last summer, marketing itself as the 'anti-energy' drink slash legal substitute to the illegal yet hip-hop-popular Sprite plus cough syrup concoction. Hilarious.

And, somewhat related, I'm sure you've noticed with Red Bull, people got tired of all the extra ounces of consumption required, thus the 5 Hour Energy Shot was born.

Which brings one to a very logical question: where is the two ounce 'anti-energy' relaxation shot that the world so desperately requires?

Enter our client, Mini Chill, the answer to not only our question, but our fast-paced modern lifestyles. Mini Chill is a delightful two ounce elixir that promises to not only reduce stress, but also enhance concentration without a drowsy side effect or loss of energy. Basically, chill.

Mini Chill is already in stores in the Village area and more sporadically about Manhattan. Additionally, there will be free giveaways during the next two weeks:

We would love to offer you a free sample in exchange for a review of the -- let's face it -- intriguing new beverage.

True, Mini Chill lacks the allure of illegally sippin' on sizzurp, but with claims so bold as to improve focus while simultaneously relieving stress, don't you want (and i apologize in advance for this pun) to give it a shot?

If this sounds like something you would be interested in, please get back to us. You can view some basic product info at http://minichill.com. We look forward to hearing from you soon!

I was thinking, "Hmmmm...liquid Quaaludes!" Until I read "without a drowsy side effect or loss of energy," at which point I lost interest.

i hope you're getting free samples for this advertising and, if so, reporting them to the federal government as now required by blog-law.

Oh, that silly law doesn't go into effect until Dec. 1!

Hey, FTC! Woo-hoo! Look, over here!

Hey, did I tell you about the new iMac that I (cough) BOUGHT?

What a beaut!

It includes high-performance NVIDIA graphics standard. Now games run smoother, photos load faster, and pro applications have even more power. The 20-inch iMac with the NVIDIA GeForce 9400M integrated graphics processor delivers up to 2.3x faster graphics performance.1 The 24-inch iMac gives you even more graphics options. The NVIDIA GeForce 9400M integrated graphics processor makes viewing web pages and searching through your iPhoto library smoother and more efficient. Or you can choose NVIDIA GeForce GT 120 discrete graphics to take 3D graphics up a notch. For 3D graphics-intensive games or pro applications like Aperture and Motion, the NVIDIA GeForce GT 130 and ATI Radeon HD 4850 processors deliver the fastest graphics performance yet.

The Apple Store, of course.

[PSST!, Jeremiah — I'll send you the name of the press person later...In return for the new iMac, you just have to post seven positive stories per day about Mac spokesperson Justin Long...]

Ha, I saw these in the deli on Houston & Ave A. My man is addicted to the 5-Hour Energy and I thought about getting him some Chill...til I saw the $3.99 price tag. Yeeg, a frying pan to the head will do nicely.

Can't you just hang out all day around NYU and collect thousands of the free samples?

Goggla said...

It's more convenient for me to just snatch it out of the hands of the sleeping students whose bodies will be carpeting the streets.

I actually just got a free sample of this stuff! It's pretty good, didn't make me pass out in class :) But, I totally felt a little bit more relaxed after about 5 minutes after taking the shot.

I found Mini Chill on Houston and Mott and it was $3. I think it's supposed to retail at 3 bucks. I guess that bodega owner marked it up.

It worked on me though. I've bought it twice in the last week.

If you are in any way remunerated for this, you'd better flag it! The new Obama FTC will be on your azz!
