You guys remember that cream-colored VW van that used to sit on 1st between 2nd & Bowery before the glass and steel bohemoths were built? I remember seeing that van parked there at all hours during the time the lots were razed and the gravel put in and the construction fences raised. Wonder what soul found that spot to be a good private refuge before the yuppie buildings took hold.
