Good looking young men, in uniform, being sweet to an old lady? That is just HOT! Must have made her day, it sure made mine! great pic.

Ok, this is amazing, because I helped this lady cross the street on Sunday early evening (when this was taken), a block south of where this was taken on the same side of the street! I helped her across 9th, from her apartment to the where the Startbucks is. This is her for sure, the boots/hair/dress combo make it hard mix her up.

She asked me to help her, and in an old school Polish/NYC accent immediately started complaining about all the immigrants in the neighborhood! I have an alarming tolerance (affinity even?) for super old school grandma racism. I played along (yeah, yeah, whatever, she's old). I have a feeling she waited until a young-ish caucasian (ie: me) came by to help her. I swear this photo was taken not 20 seconds after I left her in front of the Starbucks.

And based on our exchange these sailors made her month.

I've helped her around town too! From 14th and 1st to John's on 12th st. It was a long walk...

Gareth-

Love your comment about old lady racism, but I can't believe you referred to a USMC lance corporal and corporal as 'sailors'. :D

Glad someone else caught the fact that they are not sailors. Awesome picture all the same.

Doesn't matter to me how many men have helped this little old charmer! I think she's got it right and I would be thrilled if A hunky marine spent 5 minutes helping me out - oh wait, I'm physically capable of helping out the little old lady. OO-RAH - SEMPER FI
