This is about McWater just wanting this whole thing over with so that he can say that it's done, vs. what's best for the community. So the community board said they would look at the option of preserving the market, compensate the vendors if they did have to move the market, they called for a minimum of 50% affordable housing, they called for a public school, and they said no to big box stores. The city said screw you, and the land use committee of the CB3 and Rosie Mendez says we agree, screw the Lower East Side. And why would Rosie not only allow but support the city's plan over the people's plan.

I have rarely see a restaurant go downhill so obviously as Kuidouraku - the portions got smaller and then even smaller - and not so tasty - when the dumplings showed up looking and tasting like something with genetic drift, I knew they were done. They were so friendly, everyone would say hello and goodbye, it was like Cheers, and they showed silly Japanese game shows on the flatscreen.
