Is a Koffeecake Corner coming to East 13th Street and Fourth Avenue?

We noted yesterday that Brothers Deli on Fourth Avenue and East 13th Street is closing at the end of the week... now an EVG tipster hears that the corner space is earmarked for another NYC branch of Koffeecake Corner, a bakery-coffee shop with locations in Chelsea and the UES.

Per our tipster: "Seems like lousy timing to me with Think Coffee down the block and The Bean a block away."

Anyone been to a Koffeecake Corner?

Good luck to them and their brand new 30,000 a month space.

Since both The Bean and Think Coffee are pretty much constantly 100% full of NYU students studying (or whatever) on their laptops, it might not be the worst idea business-wise.

As a local resident (4th Ave), though, I think it's a terrible idea and one more step turning my neighbourhood into the NYU campus and leaving me looking at Nova Scotia real estate.

Shouldn't that be Koffeekake Korner?

I hate it when people substitue the letter "K" for a "C." It's just not as kute as they thinc.

If they're going to substitute the 'c' with a 'k', might as well name this joint Koffee Kake Korner.

Ill defer to K from K's K on alliterative Ks.

I'm with Marty - I really hate the "K" used for a "C" or "Q", unless they spell it "Kwoffee Kake Korner." That's so bad, I kinda like it.
