Ode to the Mystery Lot

An inspired (and anonymous) reader sent this along...

O Mystery Lot!

Home to dead bodies
But also morning glories

Used by some as a dumpster
But also bore a fabulous monster

Full of contradiction
Don't let us lose you to construction!

Think you can do better? We'd like to hear it. Or at least read it. In the comments... or via gmail...

Mystery lots and Tater Tots,
And days of wine and roses.
EV Grieve, this makes me heave,
We’ve all got runny noses.

ET please, phone home.

This calls for a haiku:

Your days are numbered
we are losing mystery
gentrification

To the tune of Like A Prayer, by Madonna:

The Lot is a mystery
The Monster must stand alone
I hear you call my name
And it feels like home

@Cheeks

Haha! Nicely done!

Ode to the Ode to the Mystery Lot

Flawless meter and
rhyme
sublime

Subliminal
criminal
indict, in spite
aimed at maimed
mystery's genius.

O lift us.
