I was member there, too, when I was working at Grove/Atlantic -- 841 Broadway. It was around $500 something dollars for a year, with the Grove discount. Yeah, didn't know that that location closed.
I remember the hamster-wheel treadmill that Crunch once put in that front window! I love to work out too, but ... erm, privacy please. :p
I'm worried a little bit about Jeniette, the spa/salon a few doors down from this closed Crunch. Jeniette (named for its lovely owner, who is still there almost every day) is a wonderful, friendly and unpretentious place that has been there since 1984. There's been a bit of a downturn in customers because of the recession, but is a great neighborhood salon, so I hope they will be able to ride the tough times out.
Here, you'll find things that you may or may not be interested in about the East Village and other parts of New York City. Appreciating what's here while it's still here. Remembering what's no longer here. Wishing some things weren't here that are here.

Yeah, I noticed this as well. Before I had kids (and gave up staying in shape), I was a member here.
Guess it makes sense -- there's that newish (a few years back) Crunch on 4th avenue and 12th street?
there's also a crunch down on Lafayette near 4th street. guess they're consolidating with no money around.
