Looking at the new IHOP sidewalk canopy

Workers put it up this morning...

And what about the large opening on either side...?

That's where more IHOP logos will go so that passerby's really cannot miss it.

Probably just a spot for customized signage.

IHOP: Idiotic Hipsters On Pancakes

I wish I didn't care. And I don't care enough to complain more than this, but:

ew.

I need to find a place with cheaper rent if I'm gonna continue living here. The charm is definitely lowered a few basis points.

OK, I'm done.

IHOP: I Heaved Over Pancakes

Waaa. I'm still sad over this. Not so much the Ihop itself but what it represents. All over town many little battles are being lost to corporate america but this one seems epochal to me. I mean I'm sure people felt the exact same feelings over the Gap moving in on St marks back in the 80s but for me in my personal timeframe this is particularly hurtful.

cool photos - what city were they taken in?

As went the St. Marks Gap, so will go this place. It's just a matter of time and whether or not we patronize the place.
