A new ATM was recently installed in front of the China Wok on Avenue B at Third Street....
Fine, though there was already an ATM across the street by Mama's Bar...
and one a few feet away farther south on Avenue B...
and one a few feet farther than that on the same side of the Avenue...
and two directly across the street from these...
Not to mention the ATM outside the Lower East Side People's Federal Credit Union on the northeast side of Avenue B at Third Street.

yeah, man. the atms are taking over.
You know, if you were like me and remember when there were no atms in the East Village you would not be quite so irate. The closest one used to be on Broadway & 8th St.
This is the least of our problems. Although I would prefer that they be replaced by pinball machines.
this is hilarious.
i would've never thought twice about it.
It's very easy to get set up with one of these ATMs at a very low monthly cost, provided you can keep it filled with cash when it empties out. Depending on what you charge as a fee (most charge around $2) you only need a handful of drunken idiots walking by over the course of a few hours on one night to start turning a profit. That's why you're seeing so many of them. People are obviously using them.
Still beats the days of being the EV when the Citibank on A was the only ATM for blocks and blocks.
These so called "ATM's" are obviously beings from a far away planet who have been studying earthlings habits for many many years now. They are multiplying and joining forces in preparation for the big takeover of earth.
I have a vague memory of the closest ATM for me being on Delancy and Essex or Broadway and Astor Place (sort of). Whenever that was. Anyway! I've know several people whose card info was ripped off using one of these gyppy ATMs...
Thanks for the post! I recall that a bank near A and 3rd was the only one for blocks and blocks, and you needed an army of friends around you to withdraw money at night. ATMs on the street in the EV still weird me out.
