FYI -- this was also the site of the first anarchist school (!?) in America -- "The Modern School" in 1914, modeled after the philosophy of Spanish educator and anarchist Francesc Ferrer i Guàrdia. Emma Goldman and Alexander Berkman were regular speakers and educators.
