Yes Annie, what we really need is some good old nanny-state legislation outlawing and condemning a naturally evolved bird of prey for being a bird of prey. I'm sure the rats will vote in favor. Insert eye-roll.
In answer to above, I didn't say to outlaw anything, don't get that response. I was just asking why hawks are so admired. Innocent question. We always feared when they showed up in my mom's backyard in Minnesota with all her beautiful birds that she feeds and provides water to.
Watching Christo and his mates build nests, raise and train their offspring year after year in TSP is an extraordinarily unique urban treat (see gogginphotography.com for ten years of marvelous photos and commentary) Rats are the preferred food followed by pigeons. Small birds are caught mainly only as offerings when mating.

Just wondering - Why are hawks admired on EV Grieve more than other birds? They kill birds.
