Marc Jacobs keeps the "East Village spirit" alive at Bergdorf Goodman

From The Purse Page:

Unless you’re in the market for a nose piercing, a pleather bustier, or a pair of $5 sunglasses, New York’s St. Marks area isn’t exactly a fashion hotspot for most people. Yet Marc Jacobs has been able to effectively channel some of that punky East Village spirit in his new St. Marks Hobo, a quilted black satin handbag that’s been studded (like most St. Marks denizens) for extra edge; the chunky black chain strap also oozes downtown street style. I love the combo of high and low fashion - something Marc is always so great at! Available for pre-order at Bergdorf Goodman for $1,850.

Should go nicely with your $90 Bowery T-shirts.

I've got some authentic EV crap in my apartment I'll sell you for $1850. I'll even throw in a shoe-shine for free.

I don't know. I think the bag oozes, say, Bucks County cul-de-sac style.

This is hilarious. I live on St. Marks Place b/t 2&3 - the armpit of the universe.

From what I can tell about the style of 90% of East Village girls is that most of the asses I see walking down the street look like 20lbs of cottage cheese in leggings made for 3 lbs.

I have to say one thing that was better in the day - either you did enough drugs to stay thin and bare it or you covered that shit up. There is nothing hot about muffin top bared stomachs and and chubs with their tits and back flab hanging out.

Oh and one other thing - 1800 bucks is 3 months rent for me and living in the EV these days is not worth a penny more.
