Are they local Mennonites? There a small group that meets near Beth Israel and an apparently larger group in Staten Island. I guess there may be more around. There are quite a few Mennonites not far upstate. (I'm assuming they are Mennonites and not Brethern or what have you.)
Wondering if those ladies coordinate their sartorial choices in advance -- "I''M wearing violet, YOU wear the chartreuse!"
