Rite Aid is turning blue on First Avenue

More exciting news to report from the World of Rite Aid on First Avenue and East Fifth Street... first, they cleaned up the inside and ditched the carpet...

Now, workers are painting the exterior, as the headline likely tipped you off... Goggla shared this from yesterday afternoon...

Perhaps they will consider bringing back the armpit tanning banner for the front window...

And the Citibike passing by is blue too!

This is great news. According to the Journal of Retail Paint, blue exteriors make the checkout lines move faster by 21.33%

Does anyone remember hat year did that space switched over from the supermarket to the Rite Aid?

@Jill

But if you read further down, the use of blue exterior paint also causes people to wait until they are paying for their products to produce a coupon by an average of 33.8%

Blue doesn't work with beige, for me. A darker brown, maybe even purple, would look better. I don't know how either would affect wait time though.

I believe purple makes lines longer but with the adverse effect of reduced coupon usage, so the net impact is negligible.

What is it with that god forsaken location. The supermarket that was there before Rite Aid was an overpriced dump... a nightmare of rotting produce, dirty fixtures and snarly employees. And Rite Aid is an overpriced disaster of endless waits to find a non existent employee to unlock the razor blades, interminable lines, and prices that are at least 15% more expensive than Duane Reed and with an inferior selection of merchandise. Also, the employees practically slap you for trying to buy something...

Did you see the pwitty flowers they painted there?
