Not sure exactly what transpired other than that the power went out... and that diners finished their meals by candlelight... The power issue kept the restaurant out of order on Friday night too...
Alder was back in business on Saturday.

On Saturday, we took a look inside the incoming Blue Ribbon Fried Chicken on Second Avenue and East First Street... we haven't heard of any opening date yet... but it looks close...

It's gone now, but back in the day, whenever we had wheels (rented for whatever) we made tracks to Luther's on Ave J in Brooklyn for buckets of amazing fried chicken. It was a joint.
Chefs/restaurateurs. I wish all the twee assholes would stick to pushing mosaics of quail with pickled hon shime ji or whatever and leave fried chicken alone. Thank you.
Those guys have been famous for their fried chicken since the original Blue Ribbon opened way back whenever. It's pretty good. Nothing mind blowing, though.
