What's left of Aces & Eights is now on the sidewalk along Avenue A

EVG reader Anna noted that workers are clearing out 34 Avenue A this morning... site most recently of Aces & Eights (and Mo Pitkin's previously) ...

As we first reported on June 29, the address will soon be home to Ruff Club, "a social club for dogs."

A social club for dogs?! Geez, what's next, a water cafe?

Another bar from my childhood bites the dust.

Aces and Eights were open from 2009-2010? How could this be a bar from your childhood? Even if you were 21y.o. when you were drinking in 2009 and you're now 24y.o. and you're lamenting the closing of this place that pretended to serve 'food' so that it can get its liquor license? Seriously.

Anyway, it took this while to gut this douchey placet, while Laskoff Drugs is gutted almost overnight after its closing?

Aren't most bars in the EV, like the 13th Step, social clubs for the dogs?

Childhood? Wasn't that bar only two years old?

Can't we be nice and guess the "childhood bar" was Mo Pitkins? Please? There was reason to be fond of Mo, and to see those lovely booths torn apart is kinda sad.

well mo is to blame. bye bye.

I couldn't agree more with the last commentor, the owner of Mo Pitkins sold to the douchy Aces and Eights and left us with a mess. Even though I like cats more than dogs, because they groom themselves, nice to see something that doesn't sell cocktails or small plates in the hood.
