Brownout: Verizon building graffiti painted over

Ugh. Woodland Creature brings the news that the Department of Sanitation just painted over all of the cool graffiti on the Verizon building on the 13th Street side leading up to Second Avenue... I know I have more photos of the wall somewhere... Meanwhile, here's what brown can do for you...

And The Sarah Show got this shot before it was too late...

Ugh. That sucks. This stretch from 1st to 2nd Ave on 13th was nice just for that. Well, fresh new canvas! Hit it!

They must have built a wall. There were windows, about head high, when I lived on 13th Street, 3 doors past the phone company.

I agree with evilnyc. I was just walking on 13th on my way to work on Thursday and thought the same thing. There's an old car that's always parked in front of that wall: if you squinted it kind of looked like 1981. I have a photo somewhere.

I think I posted that car on 13th last fall... Will have to dig that up myself. Definitely a time warp moment.

Thank god. Less "urban art" the better.

Anyone who supports the destruction of property should be jailed.

Sorry, but that bit of graffiti was pretty lame. Good riddance.
