Kinda weird and cool computer repair shop-plasma TV installers-DVD rental place closing on First Avenue

I suppose this isn't shocker ... The store formally known as Intervideo Electronics is closing. And you can see how they've tried to keep up with the times on their sign...

...and they were always good for oddball DVDs that I never knew existed.

And, of course, whenever a little place like this shutters... you have to wonder/worry about what might arrive next ...

@EV Grieve - btw the shuttered place on 7th - Outlet 7 - that you have failed to mention closed in any post, has a new tenant opening today. Vintage clothing store. Soo that's some good news/non-bar moving in news.

@anon

I'm not mentioning ANYTHING going into the old Outlet 7 space!

Ha. You know, I swear I wrote something on their closing. I can't find it, though.

Thanks for the tip. Noticed the brown paper on the windows the other day. If you check out the store, then let me know how it is.

I popped in here for a DVD rental every once in a while. I always did wonder how long it would survive. With Netflix and the like, rental places are probably on the way out, and I'm not sure any place could survive no matter how cheap the rent.

Bummer. Cool weird little shop and they were always helpful. I wonder if there's anywhere left in the east village if you wanted to rent dvd's anymore?

Doesn't Two Boots still rent DVD's? (I almost wrote "videos.")

yes but they are limited in their selection. They once had a full video store that had everything but the one at the pizza shop got scaled down. I wish the original two boots video was still there and also Kims Video on A. There's a Blockbuster on Houston. just not able to make it as a business unless you have a full bar. What a shame.

The two boots has more behind the counter than it has displayed in boxes, so it never hurts to ask.
