The Bowery Mission is in urgent need of food donations

From The Bowery Mission Facebook page...

URGENT NEED — This photo was taken [yesterday]. Our pantry shelves are almost completely empty! We are in great need of canned goods, sauces, pasta, rice, beans, grains, and condiments. Please consider donating to help ensure we are able to continue to feed homeless and hungry New Yorkers. Food donations can be dropped off 24/7 at 227 Bowery (at Prince St.). Thank you for for your support!

Thanks for sharing this. I am going to pick up some food at the grocery store and drop it off today!

Will do, thanks for the heads-up. That's scary empty.

The Bowery Mission needs to somehow get a lost puppy or a rent increase or drink 'bros' involved. Then they would get attention here. Its not enough to say our shelves are bare or its a struggle to feed the increased numbers of homeless.

I just made an online cash donation - it's very easy. You can select where the $ goes - I selected "where needed most" because there was no food pantry option.
Hey Bowery Mission, please give my $50 to the food pantry, thanks!
(For some of us car-less/disabled/don't live close to the Mission NYers, shlepping bags of food there doesn't make that much sense.)

It's a place I try to donate to regularly... I hope this has a broad reach. Hope they work with City Harvest...

Agree that this should be the first post people see on EV Grieve (yes, even more than B&H re-opening). Can you bump it up, Grieve?
