[Updated] Spinner's bringing chicken and Texas BBQ to 14th Street

Spinner's, billed as a chicken boutique, is opening today here at 536 E. 14th St. between Avenue A and Avenue B.

EVG reader Michael Paul shared these photos of the storefront (a former psychic, as you can tell from the old awning) ...

The menu shows a variety of chicken dishes ... as well as subs, salads and sides...

And signage points to a noon opening today see update below ...

Don't know too much else about the operators here... the space seemingly came together pretty quickly...

Updated noon:

Michael shared an update from Spinner's — opening day is now tomorrow!

I guess they call rotisserie chicken "spin chicken" in Texas (or wherever these people are from)?

Lived across the street from the fortune teller these 35 yrs... always assumed the neighborhhod would last as long as she was there. Now all is lost and she was arrested. She used to walk up and down the sidewalk in Arabian trousers and a Viking helmut like Brunhilde. Long past, two fat little kids always playing out front with a fat little puppy they seemed about to squeeze to death. Hope they are well.

Spinners mysteriously shut down. A sign in the window says they will have pizza when they reopen, but nothing going on in that store. Anyone know what happened?
