Here is the beer menu for the new bar behind Jane's Sweet Buns

At least the beer menu for tonight... Thanks to a reader for sending this along...

There are also 25 bottles ranging in price from $8 to $31 (the De Dochter van de Korenaar Embrasse Peated Oak Aged — wolf it!) ... you can find the list here.

The 10-seat Proletariat is now open in the rear of Jane's on St. Mark's Place... you can read about the place here ... and here.

The bar is open from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m.

That's an awesome beer list. Stillwater is amazing stuff.

I thought that business had to apply for alterations at the community board?

Does anybody know?

Where's that dork who tried to flame me for complaining about $10 beers?

We live right next door and I'm really not worried about this place. I wouldn't want to live upstairs, though. This used to be a gallery and then a second hand place, so a bar is an inevitable step down. Drunk people are loud people. Can't say that this is really fair to those tenants.

I think, but stand to be corrected, that beer and wine licenses are virtually unregulated, and they can do what they want. It's only full liquor licenses that have to apply for alterations. It's because people don't get drunk on beer and wine.

regulations for beer wine alterations are same as for liquor--the law does not differentiate
