The incoming rain/storms/apocalypse have caused the organizers to cancel tonight's free screening.
----
Tonight's free film in Tompkins Square Park is "Reservoir Dogs," that Quentin Tarantino movie.
Bring the whole family!
There's also pre-movie music from Amour Obscur, "a Brooklyn-based gypsy punk band that offers a theatrical performance that draws from the striking visual aesthetics of the Weimar cabaret and American sideshow." ... and there are free slices of Mr. Pink from 2 Boots, one of the sponsors of Films in Tompkins...
Of course, all this is weather permitting... The Weather Channel shows a 100 percent chance of rain tonight. Check the Films in Tompkins Facebook page for updates on tonight's screening. Two of the three films have been rained out this summer.
And upcoming...
July 11 — Easy Rider
July 18 — Drive
July 25 — The Big Lebowski
Aug. 1 — Rocky Horror Picture Show
Aug. 8 — Chico + Rita
Aug. 15 — Romeo + Juliet
Aug. 22 — O Brother, Where Art Thou

Who is/are the person people who pick these movies and why can they not have at least one family friendly movie? There are people wiht children living here who might like to watch a movie without violence, sex, drugs and cursing.
Netflix, sweetheart. Some ppl would rather not be around a bunch of whiny kids w ADD trying to sit still and behave while mommy and daddy save money on a babysitter.
Right on!!!!
Anonymous 2:30PM represents everything that's wrong with this neighborhood -- hostility towards low-income working people with kids.
No one refers to parents as mommy and daddy except someone who was just recently a child him/herself.
4:17, I know I wouldn't want to be around whiny kids w ADD while watching a movie whether they were brought up by "low-income working people" or hoity toity waspy trust funders! Whiny kids are whiny kids.
Anonymous 5:26PM,
And whiny adults are whiny adults.
Anon 2:30 let me guess, you are a self-hating childless miserable person. Some of us who know the joy of parenthood feel very sorry for you. perhaps one day you'll find peace in life. Although I doubt it.
