Line check

Russell K. notes the line to enter Trader Joe's on 14th Street near Avenue A stretches around the corner.

This photo is from 8:40 a.m. The store opens at 9.

There are other places to shop nearby too.

...and closes at 7 pm.

this is ridiculous and completely reckless... there is no reason to worry about food shortages and now they are creating a hazard by not following social distancing guidelines... thanks to these lemmings for creating more risk for all of us

Really? There are many other stores where lines aren't as bad. Come on people. Support local stores like H Mart on Third and 9th and Union Market on Houston and A.

... and while they are waiting they are chatting and lamenting how sad some of the locally owned businesses in the EV are/will be closing

TJs needs to bring back delivery. As someone who 'looks' healthy but has a horribly compromised back, this service was a godsend. I can't imagine how many elderly and disabled folks it has helped.

Are there any notes on what local institutions are providing delivery? Would love to support w/o adding to the hoard.

TJ's has far better logistics with more products at lower prices.
Why support "local" (like the TJ workers come from NJ?) when "local" is more expensive with fewer products. TJ employees are very nice as well. TJ gets all my food business. Union Market et al. will get my business too when they have the great stock that TJ has at competitive prices.

They're probably got the right idea. You have seen the total lockdowns in Italy and France. Its coming. They are incrementally shutting down the country. This is 9/11 Two. I'm waiting for the 2nd part of the event, like the Anthrax attacks were the 2nd part of 9/11.

I just visited CVS here in the EV. There is plenty of toilet paper to wipe your bum. Don't worry. Cheers.

I just spoke with someone who works there and said the main reason for the line is that they're only allowing a certain amount of people in at a time

Yeah, the TJ's on Grand is similarly restricting the number of people in the store at any one time, and that's what makes the line.

That said, TJ's ain't *that* great.
