Please don’t use “nabe” it’s a dumb gentrifier’s abbreviation because the word neighborhood already had a shortened version: hood

I don't know in what manner it was 'decided' (by you or anyone else) that "nabe" is a "dumb gentrifier's abbreviation" but I'd say you're wrong, particularly since I'm not dumb nor am I a gentrifier.
In my experience, "hood" is used in a totally different way by a totally different group of people. I am definitely NOT from the "hood."
Maybe just use neighborhood, the both of you? Why the need to abbreviate every word?
Maybe let people use whatever term they damn well please without calling them on it? Why the need to shove your nose in what is no one's business but the writer's - and for such a useless topic?
