The Starbucks on Avenue A and St. Mark's Place reopens today

The neighbor's Starbucks locations have been closed since around March 20. Now, however, the outpost on Avenue A and St. Mark's Place reopens this morning (March 30) only for mobile ordering via the Starbucks app or delivery via Uber Eats.

The hours: Monday-Friday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. with a 7 a.m. open on Saturday and Sunday.

According to a rep, the St. Mark's outpost will be the only Starbucks location open in all of lower Manhattan as of now.

Don't forget Ray's for coffee — the to-go window is open

They should stay closed. We don't need them here. Never have.

9th Street Espresso is not open right now, but if you want to support local coffee shops in EV, 787 Coffee and C&B Cafe are open.

Great news. I am incapable of making a burnt macchiatto at home so I must have it delivered.

What could go wrong with that? It's not like the whole Starbucks fanbase in Lower Manhattan would congregate for a cup of that stuff, right??

I hope they shut it down if it gets out of hand, which it most likely will.

5:19 makes a valid point. Not saying starbucks coffee is a the devils brew or anything but it is a highly addictive substance, which people have been deprived of for many days.

Wow. Why open this location, Starbucks? It’s not exactly busy even when it’s full, and it’s in the EV where we have plenty of local cafes just trying to survive in normal times. It’s as if Starbucks is trying to drive out the competition, and doesn’t care about our local merchants, like when they stole away Mee Noodle’s ideal corner location, forcing Mee’s to take a mid block location instead. And why put your employees at risk just as the pandemic is getting worse every day? Most people can make coffee at home. Don’t give people another lame excuse to go outside. This is very irresponsible.

And what happens when the crowds show up? What about the piles of Starbucks cups with fresh saliva stacked on top of the overflowing Big Belly trash cans? This is sanitary now? Maybe Starbucks is planning to sponsor the first CoronaCon: Come dressed as an ICU ventilator and you get a free latte.

After this pandemic is over, we will all need to reevaluate the big corporate brands who profiteered off of this crisis, like Starbucks and especially Amazon, with their $400 bottles of Purell hand sanitizer and $50 3M N95 face masks, and question again whether it is really worth letting them destroy local economy, only to watch them turn around and make an extra buck in our time of need and not even try to protect their workers. We know what these giant corporations really are now. You can’t go back to the way it was before.

All of that corporate marketing “Good corporate citizen” and “best employer” and “fair trade” and “locally sourced” nonsense will be out the window when this is done. And so will the idea that we have the best healthcare system and military in the world. You mean to tell me after all the “Saddam has biological weapons” warnings and anthrax attacks following 9/11, after trillions of dollars in Homeland Security spending, that we were completely and utterly unprepared for a virus pandemic? How is this possible? And does Mt. Sinai still think that reducing the capacity at Beth Israel from 800 beds to 100 beds is a good idea?

This Vulture capitalism must end. It is literally killing us now.
