Put a spell on you

Pinc Louds have a new single and video out today ... the band describes "Spellbound" as "a bolero-tinged ode to classic harmony groups of the 50’s and 60’s."

And there's a dreamy summer-in-the-city vibe in this video filmed in Tompkins Square Park...

This was better than I was expecting as I haven't seen them perform live before. I'm not hearing 50's or 60's harmonies though to me this, and some other stuff they do, is more like loungey dreampop. Not sure their sound can really blow up big time but you never know.

Like this track a lot! Claudi's lead vocals are always top shelf and the pop harmony drifting in and out is a great direction.

@XTC - With lead vocals of this quality there's a better shot than most non-standard-packaging acts at the "big time". We could use a post-autotune band in the charts twenty plus years after do you believe in life after love.

Her sound is changeable...I have heard her do punk...some nirvana type stuff...she does Spanish songs...and Bowie too. I think she is totally unique. A kimbala in an indie band? She could totally blow up and kinda already is. You never know, yes!

That smile, that smile! You can light up the planet with a smile like that, and that magnificent energy!

My mood & my day are definitely better b/c I've seen that video!

@8:51- I've seen them all. There was a time when I though the NY Dolls were going be as big as the Stones. Same for Mott the Hoople. Willy de Ville (from MdV) was one of the most charismatic front men I've ever seen. Ramones took almost 40 years to have their 1st gold record. (500k in sales). It took the critics 300 years to discover Vemeer. Van Gogh died penniless. What I'm saying is sometimes it's not talent but Luck, and being in the right place at the right time.
