Chico's plywood reservations

Chico's Kiss mural might be going away outside the former Nice Guy Eddie's...

... but it appears he will be painting the plywood during renovations of the new restaurant opening here on Avenue A and East First Street...

blah chico and his mediocre paintings, they need to get the guy that does the murals on the chase bank at Ave A and 2nd, now that's a real artist.

I have to say I agree that Chico is a mediocre artist...and a lot of his stuff is too U.S. patriotic for me. He's not radical, just kind of blah and his renderings are misshapen, and not in an interesting or transgressive way...maybe decades from now he'll be regarded as an outsider artist but right now he's way too conventional.

The original Kiss wall had its place and sort of charm through familiarity. Recreating it wont bring any of that back. Let it go Chico.
