EVG regular jdx passes along the following... Yesterday, he ran into Nicolina ... the artist was finishing "Portal 0" next to the Bean on Second Avenue and East Third Street ...
[via jdx]
...it's the first of 13 portals by Nicolina and Brazilian artist Perola Bonfanti. The portals are interactive, and by scanning the QR code on each one, "you will begin the journey to uncover their mystery," as Nicolina put it.
Dave on 7th spotted this one going up on Seventh Street and Avenue C on Sunday...

Wow, the three-part portal at 7th St and C works perfectly.
I'm scared.
LOVE!!! THIS!!!
That really makes that corner look great!
Wow, the 7/C installation looks perfect for the site. Lovely!
I'm gonna run full speed into it just to see what happens
too bad this art is going to last only 3 days till the end of the world!!
Serious question: Where are the connecting portals located?
Remember the graffiti that was scrawled on the building a week ago? That sucked.
This does not. This is great. AND somebody who owned the building actually agreed to have it there. 'Cause it doesn't suck. Like graffiti does.
This is inspirational (and colorful, too). Opa!
looks better in person. go check it out!
www.13portals.com is the accompanying website for the QR coded wall portals.
@ BT
Thanks for that! Added to the post....
Love the portals! Do they take us back in the day?
Portal Zero is located on 2nd street just East of 2nd ave next to The Bean coffee shop. It has a particle accelerator!
It looks like the 13portals website is gone. :(
Does that mean the project is finished? That would be unfortunate. If anyone has any inside info, please post.
It works for me
