Today in urban etiquette signage

Photos by Stacie Joy

First, from Third Street and Avenue, a note about an annoying car alarm that went off over the weekend. "PLEASE fix your car's alarm — it was going off all night."

And, from an undisclosed building lobby: "If you stole my Keurig pods you're CLASSLESS" ...

Was so annoyed with the car alarm luckily i am not a evil person but it did cross my mind of several ways to set the alarm off. will not mention how. Car alarms should be banned in nyc

Lived in the EV for 27 years and had my share of “note exposure”. This is one thing I do not miss about living there.

I feel that if you use Keurig pods you're classless, but that's just me

Coffee pods are horrible for the environment. Chuck them onto the single-use plastic pile along with straws and disposable forks/spoons/knives. Get a French press.

I feel like we're in for night 2 of this car alarm as there's one parked on 3rd and 1st that's gone off at least 5 times in the last couple hours or so. Looking forward to a great night's sleep...

@8:13 the guy who invented these coffee pods, regrets his invention.

i got my catalytic converter stolen two weeks ago while i was parked on 7th and A . Ive seriously been brainstorming creative deterrents and alarms that don't suck ever since

Very thoughtless person, I believe they’re now parked outside my window on the next block :-(. If my car did that I’d feel like such an asshole, my shit would only go off if someone broke in.

If an alarm is going off repeatedly, call the cops (or 311). They’ll look up the registration and call the owner. An alarm had been going off all night in my neighborhood once—I happened to look out the window around 1:30am and saw cops standing next to the car as some guy came tearing up the street in his pjs to turn off the alarm. Kinda funny.

Car alarms are worthless they do nothing to deter thieves who will break the window of a car and go into it and steal what they want within a few minutes and then run off while the alarm goes on and on for hours annoying residents in the area until the owner finally shuts it off.
