Over at Ray's Candy Store at 113 Avenue A, Ray started a delivery service via Uber Eats back in the late summer... which has apparently helped boost business ...

And now, Ray's has even more delivery options, as announced today, so you can get beignets or Belgian fries or something crazy that Ray has even dreamed up just yet brought to your doorstep...

yum! but i think i will walk down to get my egg cream myself: grubhub and seamless can't bring me RAY!!
Ten reasons why he's dumb to do this:
1. It will decrease patronage of the actual store.
2. When people see an empty or near empty store they won't go inside.
3. His place becomes just another place to order in from.
4. He'll have to charge more since Uber Eats takes a cut and the costs of takeout (utensils, packets etc. which hurt the local environment.)
5. People will have to wait longer to be served since he'll be busy packing orders for delivery (if I'm AT the store you serve ME first, not someone who calls after I come in, or bye, I don't care who you are/others think you are without your patrons you're nothing.)
6. How's he paying $15 an hour for a helper to deliver?
7. It makes Ray's patronage less of a community since x amount of people won't come in.
8. It cowtows to people who want Ray's and places like Ray's gone.
9. Negative reviews on Yelp will increase because Yelp is insufferable for the most part. Expect lots of bitching over minutia and prices.
10. Is Ray's a candy store or a restaurant? If the latter go there Lazy.
No matter that they had to cross borders, and complete the final delivery leg with an Uber Ski-Do, $1300 for one Egg Cream delivered to Northern Ontario Canada was a BIT steep.....
but sooooo tasty!
Supahhh Ray Rules!
