Are those plastic fingers on the tree? If so, it makes me think of my favorite childhood toy of all time, The Six Finger! The most amazing toy ever! (Just ask them.)

They are fingers on a tree, Marty.

Does the Pentagon know about that "toy"?

@EV Grieve: I don't know what the thought process is behind putting fingers on a tree, but I sure would like to meet the person who did it.

And sadly, the Six Finger toy would never be produced in this day and age. Too bad for kids, it was a great toy directly from the Man From U.N.C.L.E. school of style and thought.

@Marty - United Network Command for Law and Enforcement! Damn, I LOVED Illya Kuryakin!

I saw the guy as he was putting fingers up - he was on 10th between First and A and had stuck them on trees, storefronts and tree pit benches. When I came around the corner on A I saw he'd stuck them to the construction shed for that mythical bagel place, and when I got to 11th between A and B they were up on more trees. The kid was around 21, looked sorta like a shaggier Justin Bieber.

I'd love to have those fingers to stick on a wall by the floor so my cat Roger would have 'someone' to scratch his cheeks while I'm at work.

@Lisa: Illya Kuryaken was my favorite Man From U.N.C.L.E. too! My parents used to let me and my brother stay up late on Fridays to watch it! I gotta find that show on DVD!

I was crazy about Illya K. & watched all the TV shows! Do you guys remember there was a Man From Uncle movie as well? My older brother took me to see it & I thought it was very cool. Illya on the big screen!

@onemorefoldedsunset: I don't remember the movie! I'll have to look for it online. Mr. Waverly had to be frightening on the big screen!

@onemorefoldedsunset: I remember the movie but my parents wouldn't let me see it, even tho they let me watch the TV show. Glad to know there are still a bunch of UNCLE Agent 2 fans out there - who knew? (Never liked Napoleon Solo, aka Agent 11, he just did not have that Soviet cool David McCallum brought to his role!)

I was eleven years old. And when I was strong enough, I dedicated my life to the study of fencing. So the next time we meet, I will not fail. I will go up to the six-fingered man and say, "Hello. My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die."

Yay! Princess Bride! One of the best movies ever.

You rush a miracle man, you get rotten miracles.
