EV Grieve Eatery Etc.: Neon signage for Wafels & Dinges; Entrez becomes Farfasha

Several readers have pointed out the recent arrive of neon signage at the incoming Wafels & Dinges on Avenue B and East Second Street... W&D founder Thomas DeGeest, an East Village resident, told us that he doesn't have an exact opening date yet ... "It's definitely gonna be June," he told us.

-----

Entrez Bar & Grill opened on Second Avenue last fall... and it has randomly, quickly been converted into a hookah bar called Farfasha ...

-----

Pinalito City closed for renovations in April, as BoweryBoogie reported. Anyway, still under renovation... just noting the Chico plywood now here on East Houston and Clinton...

-----

Pho 32 and Shabu recently closed at 13 St. Mark's Place... and something called Pan is taking its place very soon... no details on this just yet.

If it's Pan, it's probably a Korean bar where they also have a location on 32nd between Fifth and Madison. It's good Korean bar food.

Something weird about that Entrez/ Hooka bar conversion. The guy who runs it is the same guy that ran the god awful pizza place that replaced the Dunkin Donuts. Its like he's got the lease and is just gonna keep trying concepts til one sticks. Must be costing him a fortune. Have to give him credit duct tape cover up though gives it that old world feel.

Whenever I pass by that "Entrez" (formerly "Pizzaria") I think WTF. Who do are they trying to fool. Modern day NYers might be dumb, but not that dumb.
