Breaking: LinkNYC up and running on 2nd Avenue

At least the kiosk just north of Seventh Street has its Information Superhighway as of this morning... and it appears family friendly fare is playing in that YouTube video...

And if you start camping out in front of it right now, LinkNYC will grow in a lawn chair and an air mattress for free.

I wonder if Fast Co. has an Oops! award LinkNYC could also be nominated for? Not that anyone could have foreseen a potential PR blunder in failing to put content restrictions on free Wifi thus creating a city-wide porn district.

I'm making a new aluminum hat for the occasion.

Why exactly do we need these ugly monoliths on the sidewalk? Sidewalk space is crowded enough.
They wil be vandalized by the barbarians in our midst and as disgusting as pay phones in no time.

Setting up an ear buds rental so you can make phone calls.....$1 for five minutes. Haven't actually tried the phone quality yet..but the net...wow it is slow...like dial up speed.

Haha. They've shut off the Internet connection now because of abuse by the, um, deplorables.
