P.F. Chang's makes it signage official on University Place

EVG reader Mark Cox shares this photo from the SE corner of 13th Street at University Place (113 University Place) ... where signage recently arrived for the new tenant — P.F. Chang's.

As previously noted, this will reportedly be the chain's first sit-down restaurant in NYC ... and a big one at 4,777 square feet of space across three floors.

The company opened several P.F. Chang's To Go outposts during the pandemic.

Italian restaurant brand Vapiano was previously in this University Place space.

Gross

A space was rented and people got hired. How is this negative?

Exactly. We should be celebrating the influx of life and commerce on this block. This community needs more businesses not empty storefronts.

For those who weren't aware, Vapiano is also a chain. It's a German brand, slinging Italian food. This is trading like-for-like, imo

Completely agree with the sentiment that we need more businesses and anything is better than nothing, but I do still think PF Changs is gross for a lot of reasons.

Extremely salty processed food. It goes down easy but will do a number on you at least it does on me.

The food may be mediocre but not bad, and the student residents in this neighborhood may be glad to have a familiar restaurant in the area. As someone whose job disappeared during the pandemic, I celebrate more jobs in the city
