Two words:
Design Catastrophe.

It'll blend in well with the green glass atrocity at Astor Place. It's the new East Village, just like 6th Avenue in the mid-fifties (streets).

I may be in the minority here but it fits the now architect designer row which is called the Bowery. If the steel and glass can contain itself to this strip we can consider ourselves lucky, Think of it this way, it is not another soulless NYU dorm, no 19th century building were destroyed to build it, it could have been a LOT taller like the blue glass 50's diner next door, and lastly we get to give it a cute nickname, The Death Star much to the dismay of the developer who thinks it's Chrysler building caliber.

All that's missing from that pic is a pop-up IHOP out front. Swanky!
