I couldn't attend tonight's
CB3/SLA meeting due to a work commitment.... However, a reader chimed in with news that the committee (only four were there) rejected Table 12's request to serve beer and wine at their sidewalk cafe,
which debuted back on Avenue A and 12th Street in late May...

To be honest, I'd want to drink if I had to sit here too....

They were toast the second the SLA chair said:
"I have it in my meeting notes here you'd never apply for a liquor license."
"I never said that!"
"Yes, you did."
that's awesome. i only have two words for this wonderful news:
"WOO - HOO!"
bunch of vapid @ssholes over there.
why do the CB people have to be such punks? anyone who wants to serve booze in the east village should be welcome to, whether they're a pet food store, a movie theatre, or a restaurant. booze is good. being teetotaling nimbys is bad.
Josef. Go home dude. This isn't a mall.
