Updated: Breeze Nail Spa closes for renovations on 2nd Avenue

An EVG reader wrote in to say that Breeze Nail Spa on Second Avenue abruptly closed at the start of the New Year without any notice to its patrons.

Per the reader: "They are a huge neighborhood spot with a good following and I walked by tonight and the place was cleaned out entirely!"

As these photos via Steven from yesterday show, workers were clearing out out the storefront here between Third Street and Fourth Street...

Updated 11:30 a.m.

Per a commenter, the outgoing message phone at Breeze notes a temporary closure for renovations.

Seeing a pretty significant number of shuttered shops for the new year. Off to a great start.

I come here pretty regularly and they've had a sign hanging up for the last few weeks informing customers of the closure for renovation. I spoke to the owner and they're planning on reopening mid-late January and will be upgrading all of the pedicure massage chairs. Their sign even said "please make sure to call before you try to come in January to make sure we are open!" I love that place and the people who run it.

I sure hope they get the new pedicure massage chairs with the loos built in. Now that's luxury.

This is my favorite nail salon -- lovely employees who do a very good job, and it seems to be a non-exploitative place to work. I do hope they're back soon!

This is literally the worst place. They are so overpriced it is insane and the fact that the owner adds $.50 or $1 randomly "for tax" is utter bs. She's so rude when you come in and I've had way better manicures for half the price and half the attitude.

I went for a manicure the day before New Year's Eve. There was a notice inside the salon.
