Workers began setting up for the Union Square Holiday Market today, as this photo by EVG Union Square Holiday Market Set-Up Correspondent Derek Berg shows.
The market, on the south end of Union Square, officially opens on Nov. 15, and runs through Dec. 24.
Per the Holiday Market website:
The Union Square Holiday Market is an internationally renowned Holiday Market located at the heart of New York City, in Union Square Park. Hailed as a must-visit destination for unique gifts created by local craftsmen and artists, millions of people browse the winding aisles each year enjoying this unique and eclectic holiday experience
Now with an upgraded look, exciting new sections like Little Brooklyn and Urbanspace Provisions, a Warming Station and Lounge Presented by Citi, a Kid’s Arts Studio by our partners at CMA and Citi, live music, and the best vendor selection in the Northeast, Union Square Holiday Market is the holiday destination for New Yorkers and tourists alike.
The Market site does not have the 2018 vendors listed just yet.

Citibank owns Union Square as well as the streets of Madison Square, Herald Square and Times Square. Parks and streets are being destroyed by these fake expensive markets.
That market never used to open earlier than the day after Thanksgiving. In a few years I expect it will open before Halloween, to maximize profit and make transit commuters' lives even more hellish.
This is an illegal use of public park space, not to mention being a maze that makes getting to the subway kiosk entrance and the Farmers' Market more difficult. But hey, someone got paid off, so it's all cool, right?
Put this trendy shit over in MePa and Hudson Yards, where it belongs - so very, very TRENDY and, according to the $$$$ owner, "THE HOLIDAY DESTINATION"!
Who knew that Rockefeller Center is not "THE HOLIDAY DESTINATION" for tourists & locals? And that "THE HOLIDAY DESTINATION" can only be found on 14th Street. Additional amenities: plentiful pickpockets, and terrible traffic, JUST LIKE Rockefeller Center, but without any grandeur and no tree.
PS: WHY is there a "new section" called "LITTLE BROOKLYN" (supposedly an "attraction") in a corporate holiday market on 14th Street in MANHATTAN? Maybe they should just set the whole market up IN Brooklyn. I'm sure there's room for a BARCLAY'S CENTER Holiday Market, or a PARK SLOPE Holiday Market.
Too soon! But I guess there's no point in complaining. Money talks and bullshit walks.
This is the worst, same people that do this are doing the "food court" in the future 14th Street Tech Hub, great.... sure to help local businesses and not be a beers for bros spot-not.
