These protests have power and meaning. But as the night wears on we are seeing groups use them to incite violence and destroy property.

Our first priority is keeping people safe, so I’m extending the curfew to Tuesday. It will begin at 8pm.
The curfew will be in place through Sunday for now.

De Blasio is really a dumb man, the curfew should have started at sunset or no later than 8PM. Of course after a very predictable night of destruction this morning he has moved curfew to 8PM.
The curfew is useless unless it is enforced. Empty words from an empty headed mayor who is as clueless and useless as his phony curfew
I assume that of course the cops will be courteous and ask everyone they meet if they are a worker getting to a late shift or getting home or if they are homeless before busting their head open for being out beyond curfew?

I'm astonished at how the cops are keeping their cool. That cop on the ground in the Bronx being kicked by a bunch of thugs didn't use his gun. That is control. if you're going home and are calm and civil, they probably aren't going to hassle you. If you give them lip aND CARRYING A BUNCH OF BOXES FROM THE gAP, YEAH, THEY'RE GONNA LOOK AT YOU.
Bring in the national guard already, the police so do not have this under control.
So what? During yesterday's curfew, there were people outside on the street. The store near me: Toko 7 - 83 E 7th st, was broken into and looted by 6 people.
Opportunist criminals are now taking advantage of the situation, where police are overwhelmed and afraid to take action because they fear they'll be punished for a mistake.
anyone trying to loot be careful the neighborhood isn't taking your shit anymore. peace to the real protesters in BLM
