Last week,
we noted that someone filled up the above tree well with about 500 pounds of cement on Avenue C… as an update, by this past weekend, the cement was gone…
Now can the tree survive the Sunburnt Cow's all-you-can-drink brunch crowd?

Thank god because I really was worried for this tree!
I called 311 and put in a complaint. Its our Tax dollars that pay for these tree's and I don't think they are all that cheap. Kind of annoys me when people chain their bikes to them as well:(
I give flats to bikes chained to trees... and I do it with a smile. Mother F'n natures body guard!
lol, 8:24. I don't necessarily condone such vandalism to private property but I have to say I love you for being "Mother F'n nature's body guard"! :-D
Does Sunburnt Cow still have an "all you can drink" special?
I wrote to the New York State Liquor Authority about a year ago to ask if that wasn't in fact a violation of the multiple drink law (one of the "ABC Laws" -- Alcoholic Beverage Control Laws):
http://www.sla.ny.gov/unlimited-drink-specials
NYSLA has an email address for legal questions and another for enforcement:
Legal@sla.ny.gov
Enforcement@sla.ny.gov
I addressed my question to both of them at the same time. The result was that "Legal" replied that it was a violation of the ABC Law. "Enforcement" did not reply.
C'mon kids, write some email to these folks, they are very lonely and want to hear about how their laws are workin' out in the 'hood.
sunburnt cow drink special with brunch legal. drink special with no food (like on Halloween) not legal--but police and sla did not have people available to enforce
@Anon 7:09 - No, actually even with food it's illegal.
One of my complaints in the email(s) to NYSLA were about a sushi place that has a huge sign advertising unlimited drinks with sushi dinner.
The result: "Legal" -> replied "They are in violation of the ABC Laws", "Enforcement": no reply and no enforcement.
Food doesn't make selling unlimited drinks (or even "multiple drinks" in excess of two) legal. It's a transparent ploy to evade the law.
Whats the problem with chaining a bike to a tree?
