The plywood is off the under-renovation storefront at 223 First Ave. … showing a teaser for Mee Noodle Shop, which is returning to the East Village
after a seven-year absence.
Mee was previously on the northwest corner of First Avenue and 13th Street. No word on an opening date just yet.
Previously on EV Grieve:
Starbucks confirmed for 219 First Ave.
, former home to Allen Ginsberg's favorite Chinese restaurant
Mee Noodle Shop returning to First Avenue
OH HELL YES.
I am so happy to have Mee Noodle Shop back in the neighborhood. It isn't often that we get a business we loved back!
I just went and re read the previous Mee article (and comments) linked above.
Now I'm starving.
We have long since rejoiced at news of the Mee noodle resurrection. But these recent updates offer nothing but frustration and unanswered questions. Specific, or hell even vague dates would sure be appreciated.
Someone should ask if they plan to have ILLEGAL and DANGEROUS Motorized Bicycles delivering food to the undernourished by flying RECKLESSLY on the sidewalk as the other Chinese restaurants do.
Go upper 1ST Ave with the food! Sao Mai, Señor Pollo and now Mee! Weeeeeeeeeeee……… :)
Ate at the 49th St Mee last night and they said they hope to have the EV branch open in three weeks.
