If you've been on the East River Greenway near 23rd Street in recent weeks, then you may have noticed a sinkhole forming in the bike lane.
Town & Village first reported on it on July 19.
And now?
Town & Village has an update with the headline of the day/week/month/summer....
Read their report here about what's happening with the gurgling tub.

I was (probably) the first person to report this (to 311), back when it was just an annoying dip in the bike lane.
Maybe our sinkhole here at 8th and B will turn into a gurgling tub! The way things are going, it looks likely.
OMG A Crusty Hot tub with scenic views and NO membership
I wonder is this is part of the East River taking back what was once it's domain centuries back.
There are a couple more sinkholes forming on the bike lane on 1st Ave near 9th- 10th St and another one up on 22nd st. Big depressions are forming and water has been gurgling up from the manholes. The one at Waterskde is troubling because that's all landfill under there. Waterside is built on top of where the ships used to dump their cobblestones which were used as ballast. Let's hope it doesn't fall in the East River.
Not pictured to the left of photo: NYPD ticketing a cyclist for not riding in the bike lane.
I have seen potholes and smaller holes that are impactful enough to cause flats. These lanes are not being maintained and they are not ample enough for passing most of the time.
That sinkhole/mainbreak was unreal.
Crusty hot tub LOL.
Countdown to the HBO or Showtime series about crusties.
