N'eat is currently closed
N'eat, which serves "New Nordic fare," has not been open this past week (and perhaps longer) here at 58 Second Ave. The sign on the door between Third Street and Fourth Street says: "Due to unforeseen building issues, we have to close temporarily for maintenance work."
There isn't any mention of the closure on the restaurant's website or social media properties. A call to the restaurant reveals that the number is no longer in service. N'eat is not accepting reservations, and OpenTable notes that the restaurant is "permanently closed." Lastly, there aren't any new work permits, which might indicate work on the building, on file for the address at the DOB.
The restaurant opened in early November.

Have never understood the unwillingness of so many business owners to not just own up to the fact that they could not make a go of it, rather than hide behind pretend "renovations" or "maintenance". In this wacko small-business environment, there's no shame in not being able to prosper, why not just say so upfront?
More like C'losed. Or maybe they are just peelin' Nordic potatoes.
We love this place. I hope they re-open.
I agree, this place was delicious and a really pleasant space. I was hoping they were about to hit their stride. Fingers crossed this is really just a maintenance thing.
I've walked this place many a time. Its always seems to be empty. I've wondered why. I especially like the minimalist decor and Scandinavian vibe. The menu looked cool. Perhaps this particular location on 2nd wasn't the best? Hopefully, they are just taking a break and to rework things. Wish them the best.
need time to 'get out of......' 😎
