Reader report: New owners for Fine Fare on Avenue C?
An EVG reader shared this photo from inside Fine Fare on Avenue C at Fourth Street.
Per the reader: "There was a bunch of work going on ... One of the employees told me they had new owners and were putting in an expanded meat and produce section."
This Fine Fare location is no longer on the tri-state grocer's website (the stores are independently owned and operated) ...
We reached out to the Fine Fare corporate office for more info on the Avenue C market. Will update if we hear back from anyone.
And back to the reader: "Glad they're fixing the place up, but hope the prices stay low!"

Maybe they will give the employees a lesson in customer service so they will be a little more friendly!
Hopefully this is a major upgrade, this location really needs it The FIne Fare down on Grand Street always has better prices, a nicer produce section, friendly staff, and it doesn't smell like King Pine either.
I suspect there is no corporate office. This is one shady company. They never respond to inquiries. They do not label most of their products, against the law. I have also had the experience where they refused to honor a clearly posted sale price that didn’t ring up correctly from the scan. Their employees seem extremely unhappy and most, including the produce staff, are able to accurately identify spinach, no less figure out the correct price.
Typo meant to say nobody in the store knows how to identify spinach. Once, a cashier questioned me about garlic. Didn’t know what it was.
They no longer accept WIC. Not sure that this will stay a Fine Fare.
