Signage is up for La Fleur Café at 437 E. Ninth St. between Avenue A and First Avenue.
One source says this will be a coffee shop-CBD shop hybrid.
The Café's Instagram account describes the business this way: "Amsterdam ❌ Nyc. We are a minority and woman-owned business, with productivity and your health in mind!"
We reached out to the owners to learn more about what to expect here...
This retail spot was previously home to the Sullivan Street Bakery pop-up.

So far not impressed with this new neighbor. This "cafe" was blasting loud music till 11pm last night, patrons were out on sidewalk blocking entry and exit for residents and their solo cups were all over the street and sidewalk this morning. A mysterious, weed-like aroma permeates the buildings'foyer and hallway, contrary to building policy posted in the lobby.
Dear Anonymous,
We are so sorry to hear your disappointment. We are very friendly and would be happy to address any concerns you may have, personally. Thus far, our neighbors and surrounding small businesses have been very warm and welcoming to us as we are excited to be a part of the community. We aim to create a welcoming space for all to share and enjoy pleasantly, as well as for the artists in the community to display their works. I assure you that we were here the following morning at 8:30am to clean up anything left outside as we do not condone littering. We hope to resolve any issues and we invite you to stop by for a coffee on us. Wishing you peace and good health!
Sincerely,
La Fleur Management
